I cant keep this in anymore, I feel it is extremely important to point this out after reading about the attempted terrorist attack on this 'Draw the Prophet' contest put on by Pamela Geller and her group.
Everyone who this moment claims that this is an act of standing up for freedom of speech... please look into your beliefs and think "why are you so extremely passionate about this issue here in this situation? Why do you feel that being able to draw the Prophet is absolutely essential to your freedom? and most of all : WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO DRAW HIM?"
---
This is my most important thought i want to impart on this:
Images of the Prophet are considered extremely offensive and blasphemous to ALL Muslims. In doing this act, do you mean to attack the violent extremists of Islam? If that is what you want to do, why not draw offensive images of their leaders? For in drawing the holiest prophet of the entire Islamic faith you are attacking ALL MUSLIMS.
The message you send in drawing the Prophet is that you despise all Muslims. Is that really your belief? Pamela Geller herself has stated "All Muslims are suspect, all Muslims are dangerous."
Most responses I have seen people clearly take it that all Muslims are sympathetic to the extremists. Even when I have read articles and interviews with Islamic leaders in the USA who denounce extremist violence, people immediately discredit them and claim they are liars. That right there is hatred. If you do that then you hate Muslims.
Islam is generally a conservative religion, but here in the USA its followers are subject to a pretty serious level of cultural intolerance and suspicion. Because there are some Muslim people out there who identify as moderates and believe in "LIVE AND LET LIVE" I choose to stand by and offer a sympathetic ear to them. Afterall it is not logical to claim all Muslims support violence. That is a belief based entirely about emotion and not facts or experience.
I know from living surrounded by conservatives in my family and in Arkansas that this anger towards Islam is really rooted in fear. People are afraid of terrorists. And the media constantly bringing us videos of ISIL executions is more than happy to feed into this fear. It gets them raitings. Now there are even Christain leaders who are talking about a 'secret Muslim infiltration of American politics' which they believe could bring about Sharia law and Christian executions here in America! This is bad this is toxic.
The Muslim extremists are attacking us saying that we are Satanic blasphemers of their holy faith and that we want to destroy Islam. That is why they attack us. Now I have to ask.... are you going to be exactly that? Are you going to be like Geller and blaspheme their faith and demand they are removed from the USA? Then you are being exactly the very thing that makes them want to attack you. Is that really the right way to go about this?
Let go of the fear. and be respectful to the good Muslims out there in our country. Those who do not believe in violence. They are our allies in combating extremism. Afterall, 25% of the world are Muslims. And only 31% are Christians. And Muslims are growing far faster than Christians. Do you really want to make all Muslims your enemy?

the DevART hell
I think that given how DA has become these days, what im going to do is start moving to using DA just as a place to share my plush collection. My worst experiences with DA now is its algorithim based search engine instead of a keyword one. makes what i want near impossible to find and prioritizes certain artists with revenue driven content. Also their AI policy having had all my past works basically given without my permission to 3rd party AI or used in DAs own AI. that was all about mining us artists for profit and not the betterment of art in general.
Moving On
Well i think the time has come to change my center of creation. Ive spent the last 2 decades on DeviantArt. Been through a lot. But recent changes have been so significant that i think im going to move my main gallery elsewhere. And one HUGE moment told me its time to go: One of the most disturbing things happened when i used a search. I will say it is not uncommon among gay fiction artists to sometimes have a mild interest in the more 'edgy' or dangerous or S&M style erotica. I did when i was younger, so did many other people i knew. Recently i took a browse for furry drawings wth breathplay, noose play subjects in it our of curiosity. In the past you would get generic results and some of what you were looking for. However with the new AI system that adds 'related' keywords to the results, an attempt to search for somewhat edgy furry art with asphyxiation play resulted in.... EVERYTHING when it came to extreme content. Decapitation, torture with knives, disembowelment
The Passing of A Loved One
Last week I had reached my Friday. work was over for the week. I was on the phone with my brother, driping about politics, the environment, discussing about agates i found while at work in the ground. I was sick of the grind and wanted to be home. and was looking forward to it. My brother was very sad, dealing with the anxietry of having to take our mom to the hospice care place for the first time, and also delaing with her medical condition. I was trying to give him reassurance. A pep talk, As he needed it a lot. Wel left our call amicably with each other, I was takign stock abotu our relationship improving a bit since the time my mom fell ill and he had lost his job. So i got to cooking and prepared to sit down and watch some videos. My brother called me back around 7:30 or so, Our mother had died at the hospice place just that afternoon. Taken from us by a very intense disease that had her bedridden within a few weeks from diagnosis, IDK if she even had time to prepare
