I cant keep this in anymore, I feel it is extremely important to point this out after reading about the attempted terrorist attack on this 'Draw the Prophet' contest put on by Pamela Geller and her group.

Everyone who this moment claims that this is an act of standing up for freedom of speech... please look into your beliefs and think "why are you so extremely passionate about this issue here in this situation?  Why do you feel that being able to draw the Prophet is absolutely essential to your freedom?  and most of all : WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO DRAW HIM?"

---

This is my most important thought i want to impart on this:

Images of the Prophet are considered extremely offensive and blasphemous to ALL Muslims.  In doing this act, do you mean to attack the violent extremists of Islam?  If that is what you want to do, why not draw offensive images of their leaders?  For in drawing the holiest prophet of the entire Islamic faith you are attacking ALL MUSLIMS.

The message you send in drawing the Prophet is that you despise all Muslims.  Is that really your belief?  Pamela Geller herself has stated "All Muslims are suspect, all Muslims are dangerous."

Most responses I have seen people clearly take it that all Muslims are sympathetic to the extremists.  Even when I have read articles and interviews with Islamic leaders in the USA who denounce extremist violence, people immediately discredit them and claim they are liars.  That right there is hatred.  If you do that then you hate Muslims.

Islam is generally a conservative religion, but here in the USA its followers are subject to a pretty serious level of cultural intolerance and suspicion.  Because there are some Muslim people out there who identify as moderates and believe in "LIVE AND LET LIVE" I choose to stand by and offer a sympathetic ear to them.  Afterall it is not logical to claim all Muslims support violence.  That is a belief based entirely about emotion and not facts or experience.

I know from living surrounded by conservatives in my family and in Arkansas that this anger towards Islam is really rooted in fear.  People are afraid of terrorists.  And the media constantly bringing us videos of ISIL executions is more than happy to feed into this fear.  It gets them raitings.  Now there are even Christain leaders who are talking about a 'secret Muslim infiltration of American politics' which they believe could bring about Sharia law and Christian executions here in America!  This is bad this is toxic.

The Muslim extremists are attacking us saying that we are Satanic blasphemers of their holy faith and that we want to destroy Islam.  That is why they attack us.  Now I have to ask.... are you going to be exactly that?  Are you going to be like Geller and blaspheme their faith and demand they are removed from the USA?  Then you are being exactly the very thing that makes them want to attack you.  Is that really the right way to go about this?

Let go of the fear. and be respectful to the good Muslims out there in our country.  Those who do not believe in violence.  They are our allies in combating extremism.  Afterall, 25% of the world are Muslims.  And only 31% are Christians.  And Muslims are growing far faster than Christians.  Do you really want to make all Muslims your enemy?
