A much as I hate it, I have become a sometimes jaded soul over the years. It seems like everyone is so harsh and careless and people are quick to dislike me for being who I am.

This was motivated by events last week.

1. Brutal killing of a small animal
While working at the park, I got some of the country boys to help me remove a fallen tree over one of the trails with a chainsaw. After he cut the tree, a little juvenile copperhead slithered out from one of the branches and he went apeshit. He took the chainsaw and cut the thing in half as I pleaded with him not to. He said "its a damn copperhead that kills children and I'll kill the motherfuckers if I see them". there was just no reasoning with him, even as I told him they were rarely lethal in their venom. Worst yet, the guy stated joking about it when he noticed his act upset me. Luckily I have had experience and knew to keep a handle on my emotions and block him out as soon as he entered 'asshole mode'. It makes me ill to think of the motivations for him to act like that.


2. The debut of 'Bruno' to theaters
I never liked Borat even. I believed Cohen's character only helped reinforce a bad side of America and further the stereotype people hold of foreigners. Then this movie came out and Cohen is directly attacking gay people like myself. We all know that he chose this simply because it was the place he could get the most obscene jokes out of. He himself stated he cares not about negative reactions to his ideas, he actually invites them. Again this only furthers American's opinions of gays as random whores that one would expect to be crawling with disease and filth. And MGM Studios states that this movie is not anti-gay but 'challenges people's ideas of stereotypes and homophobia'. Bullshit. Just look at the scene where Bruno is having sex with 2 men in a hottub with is adopted son watching. That is not humor. That is inexcusable. Tell me that it is not possible for that to have a negative impact on your general person's ideas of gays. Tell me.


Shit, I need to stop talking about this. It makes me even more mad and upset. I wish it was like back when I was a teen. I never got this mad. I was the sweetest person ever. On the other hand, I was far less secure in myself back then.
